About the Client
Lenovo is a global technology leader, recognized for its innovation in PCs, infrastructure, and services. With a presence in over 180 markets, Lenovo drives transformation through its “Smarter Technology for All” vision, delivering solutions that span from pocket to cloud.
Building on this broader vision, Lenovo has introduced the Lenovo Aura Edition devices to bring these innovations directly to end users. Lenovo Aura Edition devices are designed to elevate the user experience through AI-enhanced productivity, premium design, and seamless integration. The purpose of the Aura Edition product line is to provide cutting-edge personal and professional experiences powered by smarter AI capabilities.
Project Goal
- Target users for the project: Lenovo internal and external sellers.
Objectives:
- Educate sellers on the differences between the Aura Edition portfolio devices.
- Help learners match device features to diverse customer needs, such as hybrid work, demanding workflow tasks, sustainability goals, or AI-enhanced productivity.
- Guide sellers through interactive customer scenarios to practice offering the right solution, simulating real-world selling situations.
Challenges
-
Large Portfolio in a Tight Timeframe
The course needed to cover eight different devices within a 15-20-minute learning experience. Balancing depth and clarity without overwhelming the learner required smart structuring, prioritization of key differentiators, and heavy content condensation. -
Diverse Portfolio
Differentiating between models required clear, scenario-led positioning.
-
Balancing Technical Depth with Engagement
Sellers needed enough technical detail (e.g., NPU performance, Copilot+ readiness) without being overwhelmed.
-
Cross-Audience Messaging
Addressing multiple use cases within the same course required careful content segmentation and tone calibration.
-
Sustainability and Security Messaging
Integrating Lenovo's sustainability and security narrative across all devices without feeling redundant.
-
Demanding Standards for Visual and Brand Excellence
Lenovo set a high bar for the course’s visual and brand execution. To meet these expectations:- Every screen had to reflect polished, high-resolution visuals that conveyed a professional, premium feel.
- The user experience needed to feel elevated and modern, avoiding generic eLearning patterns in favor of something sleek and interactive.
- Strict adherence to brand usage guidelines was required—ensuring that logos, trademarks, and naming conventions were always used accurately and consistently.
PICKADO Solution
A highly immersive 15-minute eLearning course developed in Articulate Storyline.
1. Role-Based Scenario Learning
Learners were immersed in dynamic branching scenarios, selecting their role, followed by customer type, pain points, and priorities. This adaptive journey enabled learners to simulate real conversations and practice positioning the most suitable Lenovo Aura Edition device.
2. Highly Interactive, Needs-Based Selling Situations
Each scenario mirrored real-world customer interactions, challenging learners to differentiate between devices within the same segment based on nuanced needs like AI use, sustainability, or mobility. Feedback was tailored to reinforce product knowledge and sales confidence.
3. Structured Segment Comparisons
Since the course covered two distinct selling segments, it focused on intra-category distinctions. Dedicated visual and tabbed content blocks allowed learners to contrast features within the different product lines—covering design, AI capabilities, display, ports, and security—making positioning easier for sellers.
4. Visual Distinction Through Custom Graphics
Custom illustrations and animations developed in collaboration with the client’s multimedia team helped learners quickly identify different customer experiences—improving clarity, navigation, and brand recognition across the course.
7. Downloadable Job Aids
Reusable PDF quick-reference guides were included for learners to access post-training, helping them recall specs, differentiators, and target personas during real sales calls.
8. Global Reach Through Localization
To support Lenovo’s global sales force, the course was designed with localization in mind and translated, with the help of the Pickado translation team, into more than seven languages. This ensured sellers worldwide could access the content in their preferred language, increasing engagement, retention, and usability across markets.
